The Michigan Nanny Authority is now interviewing for the following position:
A loving family in Dowagiac is seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Nanny/Private Educator!
Parents are looking to hire an experienced and reliable Nanny/Private Educator to provide high levels of loving care and assist with the online education of the family's three children, two girls aged 10 and 6, and an 8-year-old boy. The Family is open to full-time (8:30am to 4:30pm for 40 hours per week) or part-time (10am to 3pm for 25 hours per week) Monday through Friday, and can be flexible on hours and days with the right candidate. Nanny's primary job responsibility will be to oversee the children's virtual education through their private school system. The family is planning to keep the children at home for the 2020/2021 school year. Desired start date is late August 2020.
The Nanny will partner with the parents to care for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of the family's three children. Nanny and the Stay-at-Home Mom will work in daily collaboration to tend to the children's care and education and the needs of the household. Because Nanny's primary job responsibility each day will be assisting with the children's elementary-level education, she should be prepared with ideas for creating a daily routine and structure for learning, creating and maintaining in-home learning environments for each child, and encouraging eager ongoing participation with virtual learning. She should also work well in collaboration with the mother and be flexible and adaptable in sharing and shifting responsibilities each day, be comfortable communicating with school teaching staff as needed, and be willing to tutor children in addition to the school lessons if they need extra education and support in some subjects. The Family would love to hire a Nanny/Private Educator with at least one year of experience teaching professionally in a classroom setting, though it's not a requirement, and preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Elementary Education.
Nanny will also help the mother maintain light child-related housekeeping, including helping with the children's laundry, helping the children maintain tidiness and organization in the their rooms and play areas, and doing dishes and other clean up after meals and activities. The family may ask Nanny to run errands and/or do light grocery shopping for them on occasion. The family has one small, friendly dog who won't need any additional care, but Nanny should feel comfortable having him underfoot and not have any allergies!
