Hello, I have been working as a swimming instructor, educator and home tutor for 5 years. While I taught children via Distance Education / school of the air in Australia I realized that I have a passion for teaching. Recognizing how the students learn and progress makes me happy. Every step in learning that the children achieve and the smile of the children when they enjoy an educational activity makes me happy too.  I taught the Australian curriculum to primary students. I gained many ideas about how to teach children in an exciting way for them where they enjoy and do not even notice that they are doing schoolwork. This mainly happens if they learn through games and fun activities. After I left Australia I worked as a volunteer to teach English in Thailand. It was a great and unique experience to teach English and other skills as well as sports to really enthusiastic students. Previously I finished volunteering and teaching swimming for 4 months at a preschool in Luang Prabang. I taught absolute beginners at the age of 3 to 5 years. It was challenging and a lot of fun. Most of the time I taught the children interactively via games and I made the lesson as much fun as possible. As a result they improved really quickly and did not even notice that they are learning a foreign language. When I taught swimming I conveyed the basics for moving and feeling comfortable in the water. Furthermore I introduced the students into various swim strokes and practiced diving and jumping from the pool edge. It has always been essential to be empathetic and take care of the kids needs and wills so that they are not getting scared and afraid of the water. Also it is essential to build a trustable relationship to the children. In my opinion being patient and teaching them skills of moving in the water through fungames is the right key.
