I have worked in the special needs field for many years in New Zealand and the UK.
Before mainstreaming was introduced into schools I worked at a special needs preschool teacher where we concentrated on social skills, toileting skills, eating skills, fine motor skills etc....important basics.
I have been a teacher aide for preschoolers and primary school aged children.
I have also worked in home support and respite care.
One of my most rewarding experiences was fostering for three years to a boy (4 through to seven years of age) who had severe ######...## are still in contact and he is now 24 years of age.
I have also worked in residential homes with adults.
I enjoy working with people, have a caring nature and want people to strive to be the best person that they can be.
