| I am a flexible, confident and patient individual with over three years of experience working in a special education setting as a Teaching assistant and/or a Learning disability support worker, promoting independence amongst service users. Further to this, I have in-depth knowledge of safeguarding all individuals, de-escalation techniques and ‘covering’ lessons for teachers at a moment notice. More than anything else, I am most experienced as a carer for my younger sister with Autism, I believe this has meant I have a natural understanding for other families/students in a similar situation to mine. I am a 2nd year BA Education student training to become a SEN Teacher.

| I have worked as a support worker and carer for the past 4 years, I provided care to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities. I now work as a home carer and provide care and assistance to vulnerable adults in Glasgow. I love my job and love caring for people its something im passionate about. I have a wide range over experience and training, I have been trained in the following, Adult protection, Moving and handling, Personal care, Catheter and Stoma care, Assistance with medication, Makaton, NHS mental health first aid, first aid, NHS rebound therapy, CALMS physical intervention, Autism, Down syndrome, Epilepsy plus more.

| I’m currently trying to get into university to study paediatric nursing and I am hoping to get an opportunity to gain some more experience in caring for people . I am particularly interested in caring with people with disabilities such as autism as i myself have aspergers so i know a great deal about how to give care to someone who has similar/ more severe disabilities . Although i am autistic I don’t let that hold me back and i use it as a “superpower” as it gives me an incredible memory and i am more aware than most about sensory issues . I have undergone a first aid course and i have skills in DBT and CBT (mental health therapy courses) . I have no other responsibilities so i will be able to help how little or as much as you may desire . Although i will be getting paid that is not my motivation, my motivation is to gain experience and help people who can’t always help themselves

| I have had experience tutoring and looking after two boys with autism and fragile x for about 4 years now. These boys are currently 21 and 23, I look after them when the family is away on holiday this is around 2-3 weeks long, I live in with them do basic duties like preparing foods , bathing , washing and just being a friend. They live back when my family is so I babysit whenever I am back there. please let me know if you have any more questions , thanks :)

| I have experience in working with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and nonverbal. I was part of the team at the Lothian Autistic Society in Edinburgh and I was paired 1:2, 1:1 or 2:1 with a child/young person with additional support needs during school holidays for two years. I was actively assist them to participate in the activities available, both in the school and at external ones, supporting and encouraging the child/young person in order to make him/her feel part of the group, managing and handling challenging behaviour situations, helping to develop social and communication skills and to get involved in imaginative play and enable them to enjoy new experience. This experience helped me to develop strong interpersonal skills and to manage challenging situations with children with special needs in calm, playful and professional way. I also have experience as a children entertainer. Specialising in balloon modelling, I was regularly entertain as a clown at birthday parties, festivals and Community Centre events. I have passion for the outdoors, organising treasure hunts and to make others smile.
