In summer 2016 I was given the opportunity of working as a Special Needs Counsellor at Summer camp USA. Having worked with children with down syndrome and autism before this gave me another chance to do something I thoroughly enjoyed.
I washed, dressed and feed campers depending on the severity of their disability. Waking them up in a morning and putting them to bed on an evening, occasionally dispensing medicine. During the day I joined them on the activities ranging from sport to arts and crafts and swimming actively encouraging them to participate.
Summer camp gave me a taste of how rewarding and how much fun it can be to work with children with disabilities.
