I have gathered a lot of experience working with both younger and older clients within different care settings, including a broad range of disabilities. My younger sister also has severe learning disabilities and a number of health problems so growing up I have seen first hand the difference personalised care can make to a family. I have experience in moving and handling, tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, Special Educational needs, spinal injuries, brain injuries, elderly care, rare genetic disorders and epilepsy just to name a few. I have worked for a number of care companies and most recently for a gentleman with locked in syndrome as a personal care assistant who employed me directly. Working 1-1 with regular clients builds a relationship and trust, I believe this is very important for anyone who requires care. I am currently studying BA Hons degree in Health and Social care part time at home with the Open University, I am currently on year 4/6. I am hoping to a top up year after this course and qualify as a social worker.
