Hi, my name is Simona.
I am originally from Romania, currently living in Leeds, as my life partner found a great job opportunity and we decided to relocate.
What I can say about myself is that I believe life is a beautiful story and animals are my favourite chapter.
I started my work with dogs as a volunteer at the local shelter (Help Labus Galati) back in 2003. I worked there a full year helping the staff with all sort of tasks form cleaning, grooming, feeding the animals to charity event planning, even vet care assistance if needed.
I trained, my best friend, Gizmo to become a model canine citizen, and in 2005 he was voted Ambassador for animal assisted activities and therapy (AAAT) in Galati. Our adventure inspired others to unite and create a powerful voice for animals in our community.
I trained teams of dogs and handlers to collaborate with more than 50 institutions, reaching residents with special needs of all ages.
After I graduated the Postgraduate training and professional development course "AAAT for people with special needs" at Babes-Bolyai University in 2016, I continued to work under the supervision of specialists which will be happy to recommend me for my work.
