I have worked for a care agency for the past three years and have experience with mental health, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Within my role, I attend to clients in their own home to support them with personal care, household tasks, shopping, and personal appointments, and generally a listening ear so people don't feel so isolated. I have previously volunteered within a primary school setting and have qualifications in supporting teaching and learning. I really enjoyed the social and emotional aspect of this and apply these skills around my clients. I feel that social and emotional development is something everyone needs for life and being able to just walk somebody to the local shop, while keeping them safe, can empower them so that they feel valued and a part of society. This is so important to health related issues and one of the many things I love about my job.
