I have always wanted to work with children from a young age. I helped look after my sister's children when I was 9 years old, and since then I've always known it's something I wanted to do. Since I was old enough to be left alone, I have looked after many children; family members, friend's and friend's of friend's children. It's an amazing thing to know that someone is trusting you with what they love the most in the world. I've worked in nursery settings for nearly 7 years, I have loved every moment of it. Within my current setting, I work with mostly 3 months - 2 years; but over the 5 years I've worked there, I have worked in all ages, up to the age of 5. Each age group is amazing. They surprise me everyday with what they know, learn and how they do it. I've built up fantastic bonds with a lot of the children and their families. I am still in touch with a lot of families who have left and their children have gone to school. They often ask me to babysit for their children, who now range from 2 years up to 11, and I still get to see them and that bond is still there. I love focusing my energy into things I love, which is caring for children, watching them become themselves and find their own feet.
