| I am an NNEB and MNT qualified Nanny/Night Nanny with 30 years of experience. I am very honest, trustworthy and loyal. I believe that I am good at my job because I genuinely care for children and I provide a safe, stimulating and fun environment for them to learn whilst playing. After leaving school, I went to college to complete a two year NNEB childcare course. I secured my first full time nanny position shortly before I qualified. This was a live in position caring for a 4 year old and a newborn baby I really enjoyed my time with this lovely family. I then went on to be a nanny for many more lovely families during my 30 year career. After caring for newborn twins in my first night nanny post six years ago I knew that I wanted to pursue this, I did some further training and now work on a self employed basis as a Night Nanny in and around the Huddersfield area. My service is often used by parent's who are expecting multiple babies or have had a c-section or just exhausted parents needing a much needed rest! My families find that getting a full nights sleep is more beneficial to them than getting some daytime help and only being able to grab a few hours of sleep. All my career life I have worked with children in school and out of school clubs I am currently working in a private school in Huddersfield but the hours of work are not suiting my newly married lifestyle as I am working early mornings(before 8am) and in to the evening (up to 6pm) so I am looking for work elsewhere.

Babysitting is probably the BEST PART TIME JOB out there. I’ve been really lucky and the families that I have worked with are amazing. I prefer babysitting to working in a child care facility because you get more one on one time with the kids. I think it’s hard to build a good relationship with someone when you only spend fifteen distracted minutes with them a few times a week. When you babysit for one family you get to really know the kids and they’re kind of like your extended family. I think I love babysitting because it comes naturally to me. Whether its playing with Legos for three hours, playing tag in the neighbourhood, or having a Movie night its just so much fun to be a kid! I love arts and crafts, games, movies, logic puzzles (which Legos are essentially), and role playing. One of my favourites which is baking I could do it all day! I remember I did a lot of reading when I was a kid and I didn’t really do the playing stuff as much, so maybe that’s why I love it so much now.

| I spent six months in The Netherlands as an au pair. I learnt to speak the language and also learnt a lot about myself. I was looking after two girls, one aged six and the other aged seven. It was difficult at first due to the fact that I couldn't speak the language, therefore communicating with the children wasn't as easy as it would've been if they were English. But I loved every moment. Communication became easier as time went on, my Dutch improving, and also my relationship with the two children getting better and better. I had to do a lot of house work but didn't mind one bit. I would get the children ready for school in the morning, pick them up from school at lunch time so that they could eat their lunch in their home, and pick them up from school in the afternoon. When the children were in school I would clean/tidy their home and get the evening meal ready. It was a lot of work but I believe that I handled everything very well, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I have qualifications in child care and have looked after children with disabilities such as, a girl with cerebral palsy for 3 years, also looked after a young boy with spina bifida in a placement I was doing in college and I also looked after a few children with autism. I have a lot of experience looking after most ages as I have a lot of brothers and sisters, I used to look after a 6 year old, a 4 year old a and a 1 year old looking after the children consisted of cooking, cleaning, feeding, putting to bed, over night care if needed, bathing, dressing, also changing nappies if needed. I also have paediatric first aid. I love working with children of all ages and making sure they have fun.

| I have had a a few experiences when babysitting for children. These experiences have been from a newborn child to a 13 year old child. I do have a lot of experiences when it comes to babysitting children. I have been an overnight babysitter before and made sure that the children get their breakfast. I also make sure that the children have had a bath, brushed their teeth and are in bed for a reasonable time (depending on what the parents normally do). I have the ability to look after 1-2 children as I find that if there is more than two, sometimes it can get out of control, however I have baby sat for 4 children as once before. I am willing to try anything new that the parents offer and work up to their standard of care for their children. I am a trustworthy person as I have done overnight stays before which means that I have to make sure that both children and the house are safe (or any pets) and that the house is kept tidy for when the parents arrive back home. If the children need any homework help or reading help then I am always happy to help as I have done that in the past as well as night care.
