Prior to becoming a childminder I worked as a qualified critical care nurse for over 5 years. Whilst working, I had to use a variety of childcare such as nursery, play school and grandparents, hence I know what it is like to deal with childcare issues.
I have recently been re awarded Gold awards in Nutrition and Hygiene. I also run my local parent and toddler group.
I have completed my BA in Early Years with Early Years Professional Status at Huddersfield University. Very few childminders have this status and takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I am continuing my studies by now doing my honours.
My aim is to provide a warm, welcoming, homely and stimulating environment, and build positive relationships with the children in my care and make sure their individual needs are met so they can reach their full potential. I hope to offer children a continuity of care as close to their home environment as possible. I would like children in my care to feel “part of the family” and thus valued as a family member.
