After School Care Swadlincote

For the last 6 years I have looked after many children of different ages. I have 2 step children who I take to school and have after school. I have always looked after my younger family members and family friends. Up until the last month I have looked after twin girls aged 2 years old. I was recommended to this family from a family friend and I have enjoyed every second being with them. I love doing play activities, days out and basic teaching games.

I have worked at a playgroup for a year where I also achieved my Childcare CACHE level 2 certificate. I then went on to be a Nanny for 3 children collecting them from school taking them to after school clubs. I love children and working with them is so rewarding. I also have first aid.

| I have been a child minder for 10 years and have cared for children from 7 months until they start school and have cared for children of school age before and after school. I have NVQ 3 in Early Years Care and Education, Paediatric First Aid and various other related qualifications. I have a loving husband and 3 beautiful girls aged 22, 20 and 16 and have recently been blessed with a granddaughter. My family are fully committed to my choice of career. We enjoy time at home creating, singing, quiet times with books, playing and also spend a great deal of time outdoors in the park, visiting the library, shops and various toddler groups. Previous to my child minding, I worked within an infant school in the nursery and reception classes and also at an out of school club within the same school.

I have over 12 years experience working with children in a private day nurseries, I have worked with children from 6 months to 11 years. I am a Ofsted registered childminder and a National Childminding Association member, providing good quality childcare in a caring family environment. I was awarded 'GOOD' in my last inspection in January 2012. I live in the Woodville area close to Eurkea Primary School, with a large enclosed garden with a play house, tree swing and a vegetable patch. We make full use off the local community by walking to local parks, visit libraries and attending events at our local sure start centres. I provide many play and learning activities for children of all ages, needs and stages of development for both indoors and outdoor play. These include construction toys, role play, home corner, crafts, jigsaws, books and many more. I prepare fresh meals, snacks and children have access to drinks throughout the day. I care for children Monday to Friday 7. 30 - 6pm, but can be flexible to suit each families needs. I provide full time, part time, after school care and school inset days and school holiday cover. My aspiration is to work with children and be able to make a significant difference to their lives by helping them learn the skills they will need to thrive in life. I have had an interest in working with children since I was very young and my varied experiences outlined below shows that I enjoy spending time with children. My experiences with children include: assisting with dance classes and performances of children from the age of 4-11, volunteering for a local Brownies, Rainbows and Guide packs- helping with excursions and meetings, working in a local after-school and holiday club for children in the local area, assisting with a drama club at a local school every week, various babysitting roles and a cabin counsellor at a summer camp in America. Whilst working in all these settings, I have had many rewarding experiences such as witnessing the growth of every child's confidence and in recognising the full potential in every child.

I have worked in childcare for over 10 years in a wide range of settings, including nursery settings, preschools, before and after school clubs, nannying, babysitting, teaching assistant as a one to one, and a special needs school. I also have two of my own children. My daughter is 3 years old and my son is 10 months old. I have worked at a treatment centre in Burton in theatre recovery on the wards and in a care home doing night shifts. And, also worked night shifts at a care home. Recently, prior to having my son, I worked as a carer in the community.

I have always looked after family members since I was a young teen and have then continued to have three of my own ages7, 9, and 13. I have also looked after my friend's children at weekends and after school and I have also got god children and looked after them from birth. I don't have qualifications in child care, but I've had plenty of experience in childcare. I can cook and clean and do all duties that would be needed of me.
