We're looking for a kind, creative and lively person with a positive attitude to life to help look after our six year old son, along with an existing carer. Hours: (1) Term time: Tuesdays 15.30-19.30, Fridays 12.15-19.15, Sundays 08.30-10.30 and maybe afternoons; (2) Holidays. Tues 08.00-14.00, Fridays 08.00-14.00, 15.30-19.00. Pay: £13/hour for weekday, £15/hour for weekend. You will work with an existing carer/parent team. Our son is a vibrant, happy boy who needs somebody to play with him, nurture him and support his care. He has an acquired brain injury, and as a result has a development delay and autism whilst he is physically able. He responds well to people singing to him, smiling, positive encouragement and using a range of toys and activities to stimulate him. Kindness is a must! In particular, we’d like a nanny who is creative in using toys and music to communicate and interact with him, and somebody who is attentive to his needs while giving him space to learn and grow. He works with various therapists – e.g. speech and language, occupational – at home to help him develop and so we would want a nanny would be comfortable working with them, and potentially other carers/family members. We're a kind, happy, open-minded family who like to do lots of activities and have fun! Responsibilities: • Play with him and teach him. • Help with feeding, drinking, toileting and dressing. • Organise his schedule, do research on equipment and toys he may like. • Take him to local park, swimming and other activities • Supervise him whilst he has various therapies. • Do his laundry, clean and tidy his rooms, including vacuuming. Requirements: • Non-smoker • Able to sing nursery rhymes. • A kind, patient and caring person. • Positive, calm attitude • Proactive approach to identify new activities that engage him. • Attention to detail • Creative skills • Good physical health, personal hygiene and energy. • Valid DBS
