A 21-year-old Special Needs Caregivers in Calgary (T3A) with 3 years of experience and a completed Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check
As I am pursuing a career in paediatrics, I have a great passion for working with children. I have also had past experience in working with them. For example, I worked as a Group Leader for Mount Royal University's summer camps. Here, I conducted various recreational and educational activities for youth aged 8-14. In addition, I worked with various children with ADD and ADHD as well as those with severe food allergies. I also have extensive experience in working with special needs children. I spent 3 weeks in Guatemala, participating in a special needs care program. Here, I worked at a special needs school to interact with and provide care for children with various mental and physical disabilities. For example, I worked with children in wheelchairs, and those with speech and visual impairments. Further, I assisted with physical therapy exercises, feeding, and changing. Moreover, I work as a developmental aide with Stepping Into L.I.F.E., interacting with children with varying mental and physical disabilities such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, and cerebral palsy. I am passionate about what I do because I find great joy in working with children. I believe that their positive attitude and carefree spirit provide a great environment to work in, and it is a very rewarding and eye-opening experience.
