I have always loved children, however, I found that my love grew deeper after volunteering some of my time at a hospital cuddling sick children. After volunteering my time, I decided to change my career choice and go into Nursing due to my love for children. I found it was difficult for me to leave my work at home because it pulled at my heart strings. I then decided to work in group homes with young adults. Due to my passion for babies, I also got involved with an association and volunteered my Doula services to young ladies who did not have any support during their birthing experience. I have over 7 years experience with school age children and I used to teach a class for a public school board (children with high behaviours or who are medically fragile). However, after having my son and looking for proper care and not a babysitter, I decided to make a change in my career once again and opened a very successful day home in Beaumont for over 5 years. I have chosen childcare because I enjoy being around children. It is extremely rewarding to watching the enthusiasm and excitement when they discover something new. No matter their age, it makes me feel fortunate to be doing childcare.
