Sustainable Summer Break is group childcare for children in grades 1-4 in week-long sessions from 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday in the Oakland/Berkeley area. My goal is to provide affordable childcare which connects kids to the environment around them, inspires them to appreciate nature, and exposes them to environmental resources in the community such as parks, museums, wildlife sanctuaries, and lakes, all while having FUN! This will be the kind of summer break you remember from your own childhood, with lots of time in the sun, running, playing, exploring, arts & crafts, and making friends. I know that summer camps and hiring your own nanny can get pricey, but by participating in group childcare you can reduce your costs, and your children can spend their days doing fun activities with friends old and new. I have combined my love of children with my love of the outdoors and created a somewhat flexible itinerary of awesome and educational activities that will teach kids about sustainability, nature, health, and friendship, all while having a ton of fun in the sun! From lakes, to parks, to pedal boats in Lake Merritt, and trips to museums, we are going to have a great summer! The cost is $175/week when you sign up by May 1. Prices include daily pick ups and drop offs, all admissions prices, and snacks. There will be 6 kids and 2 nannies in each session, and before or after care may be available.
