Donelson Heights Early Childhood Program (DHECP) was established in September of 1975 as a service to young mothers. Through the years, it has grown into a high quality educational childcare and preschool program.
DHECP is a ministry of the Donelson Heights United Methodist Church serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We strive to provide loving care and learning opportunities for young children in a stable, Christian environment and to develop each child to his/her greatest potential, socially, physically and intellectually, through a program of play, art, literature and music, with special attention given to each child's development.
Donelson Heights Early Childhood Program is a Tennessee State licensed childcare provider. As a licensed facility we must comply with specific policies and requirements that are mandated by the State of Tennessee. An annual evaluation process includes inspections by a safety and health environmentalist, the fire marshal, a health department nurse, assessments of the classrooms and playground by trained evaluators, and several unannounced visits and a scheduled evaluation by a State Licensing Counselor.
DHECP is a member of the Tennessee Conference of United Methodist Association of Preschools, an organization that upholds high quality childcare ministries in United Methodist churches throughout the Tennessee Conference.
