Grandma Charlotte's House of Kids

114 South Berteau Avenue, Bartlett, IL

Costimate: $249/wk

When I moved to Bartlett to be closer to my grandchildren, I found myself in a unique situation. As I crossed paths with neighbors at school, church and around the community, I observed many parents struggling to balance their families and careers. While I was enjoying time with my grandchildren it became apparent that I could help these young families find a comfortable and reliable home day care alternative.

I have nurtured the children of educators and professionals in and around the Bartlett community for over 15 years. We are one big extended family. We celebrate the arrival of newborn siblings, first steps, back to school jitters, the joys of summer vacation, endure growing pains and anxiously await the return of college-age grandchildren. When the doorbell rings after school often it is a former daycare child just stopping by to say hello and share their latest accomplishment. There is no limit to the milestones we share on a daily basis.

I am DCFS licensed, certified in CPR and First Aid. My home is registered with the ICCB Food Program and I have openings for full and/or part time care. I participate in continuing education programs annually. I am conveniently located walking distance to the Metro station, preschool, elementary and middle schools.

Hakuna Matata Daycare

511 Krause Avenue, Streamwood, IL

Costimate: $261/wk

I have provided childcare services in our non-smoking, Streamwood home since September of 2012, and I have 10+ years of working with children as a babysitter or nanny. I became a licensed home daycare with the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) as of July 2013. My husband and I just had our first child in September, so the daycare is closed until January 1, 2014. However, I'm looking for a family or two to begin providing full or part-time services for when I reopen the daycare in January. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. Our daily activities include educational learning strategies, arts and crafts, music and exercise, and games. Allowing children to be themselves and feel loved and cared for in my daycare is a priority, along with teaching them the importance of respect and using good manners. There is a separate room for our napping/resting time, in which each child has their own bed that will be kept clean. I also have a fenced-in back yard with plenty of space for fun outdoor adventures.

One fun feature that I have included with my Hakuna Matata Daycare, is that I try to often pull out my camera and take pictures of the crafts and exercises we do during the day! I will give you the link so you can access these pictures anytime you would like. You will enjoy seeing your child participating in daily activities and I think it is fun for the kids to look at the pictures with their parents and share their favorite part of the day with them.

The hours I am available are 7a.m.-5p.m. on weekdays, however other arrangements can be made via contract. References are available upon request. I wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect childcare provider for your family, and I would appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself to you!
