Hi, this is Norma in Salem, VA. I'm a single mom working from home with 5th grade and 9th grade boys. I would love someone to be at the house 3x a week to help get the boys on the bus in the morning and then come back to be here when they get off the bus in the afternoon. I'd like housekeeping, laundry, baking and cooking help, as well as an interest in taking boys to park, bike riding, library, help with homework, etc. Ideally, someone comfortable with jumping in to our family with their sleeves rolled up, ready to help and have fun. Seeking part-time companion for my mother who has Parkinson's. Initially interested in a few afternoons per week - days and times are open/flexible. I work from home and am usually here. Looking for someone to keep my mom company and help her with some basic activities to ensure she is safe, she uses a lift chair and a rollator but sometimes needs help when her medication is wearing off. She likes to occasionally cook but needs supervision\help. Help to keep her room tidy and possible preparation of simple meals would be helpful. About who needs care: 67-year-old stroke patient that has suffered cognitive loses. Has to wear a adult pull up, needs help with initiating normal daily functions. Is unable to process and organize some of her thoughts or words. No real hobbies or interest. Used to be a smoker so we are trying to not allow that to happen. Would need help administrating meds also. Husband lives in the home but is also handicapped. However, he is able to cook, drive, walk and do for himself. He does walk with a cane and has a bad back and hip issues. About the care needs: Someone that will be patient with my mom. She is a new stroke patient. She was fully functional on her own just 3 weeks ago. Would like someone that can show her other hobbies and interests.
