About

Have a blast in this class doing Improv and creating skits! Students will explore the art of improvisation by learning and practicing a wide variety of improv games. We will learn how to act "in the moment", be creative and spontaneous, think on our feet, and have lots of fun! Students will also create original short skits together which will develop team building skills such as group brainstorming, cooperation, and problem solving, along with expanding their imaginations and developing their acting skills. We will end the semester (Lord willing!) with a Live Improv and Skits Show! This type of Acting class will work well with social distancing, and will also be conducive to a zoom format IF we need to switch to that depending on the heath crisis. IF we need to switch to zoom, students will be encouraged to make the transition, and the performance would then be recorded and presented with a Youtube watch party.

(Also note, if your children are split by grades into different K-6 classes and you would prefer to have them in the same class, please contact me and we can make arrangements for that).

Homework: 1 hour per week .Homework for this class would include memorizing lines and writing about your character. You also might need to find or make a simple costume or prop for the performance.

Please note: classes are divided K-3rd grade and 3rd-6th grade, however, if your children are split by grades into different classes and you would prefer to have them in the same class, or if they have another class conflict at the time their grade would meet, please contact us and we can make arrangements for that.
