Do you love to dance and want to learn more? Is dance a tricky spot for you in Theatre? Are you new to theatre and want to get your feet wet? Been dancing for a long time and want a refresher? This class is for you!

Intro to Musical Theatre Dance introduces students to the fundamentals of musical theatre dance technique and performance. Dancers will explore jazz-based movement, musicality, character expression, and storytelling through choreography inspired by Broadway productions. Emphasis is placed on confidence, coordination, stage presence, and ensemble work in a positive and supportive atmosphere. Students will also have a few weeks dedicated to learning introductory tap steps.

Students will develop skills that directly support future stage performances, including learning choreography quickly, taking direction, staying in character while dancing, and performing confidently as part of an ensemble. The techniques and performance habits introduced in class will help prepare dancers for TCHA musicals, community theatre productions, auditions, and future musical theatre opportunities both on and off the stage. No prior experience is required for this class.
