About

If you’re looking to build your own wooden longbow but the thought of making one from a full stave is a little overwhelming and time consuming, then our two day introduction to bow making weekend is perfect for you. This is a great beginner class for those who want to learn about traditional style archery and basic bow making principles. Experienced bowyers and archers will guide you each and every step of the way from:

• Selecting wood types
• Tools & equipment
• Tillering bow limbs
• Handle designs
• String making &
• Backing bows

You’ll craft your wooden bow from materials readily available at any lumber yard around the State while learning all about bow performance, design layout and understanding proper tillering technique. This class is perfect for anyone interested in bow making, bow hunters, traditional style archery, survival skills as well as earth-based skills and nature crafts. Students will also be given instruction on using your new bow properly and an opportunity to practice intuitive archery techniques with their new bow on the range. Wood arrows will be provided for practice.

This class is limited to 8 students to ensure quality instruction in the ways of crafting a traditional wooden longbow, so register today. All materials and tools will be provided for the class.
