About

For thousands of years plants and trees have been aiding in the advancement of our species. From foods and tools, to medicine and travel, plants and trees will forever be our closest ally in the world of wilderness living. Decoding the massive wall we see as green can be a burden if not shown quickly how much fun and enjoyment one gets when discovering new uses from plants and trees. During these nature hikes we usually:

• Meet new nature nerds in your community
• Identify as many plants & trees we can together
• Learn about various edible & medicinal plantcs and how to use them
• Discover the world of utilitarian uses for plants and trees
• Explore anything else we find along the way that captivates our awareness

Participants of these hikes usually walk away with a notebook filled with information about the most common plants and trees in the Central Texas area. The idea is to provide each student with enough in field experience identifying plants & trees that they go home feeling capable and confident to do it around their home. Because the walks take place at different locations each time, we are exposed to a diverse range of plants and trees around the Central Texas area to learn from and experience.
