-Please read the information below as it is regarding MOCHA Camp-

Both parents and campers are encouraged but not required to wear masks while inside MOCHA.

Our location
MOCHA camp takes place at 1221 Broadway, Lower Level Suite 49 94612. We are on the lower level of Oakland City Center, just steps from the 12th Street Bart Station (exit 13th street). MOCHA is located on the right hand side of the lower level of the plaza. If you need the elevator, you can access it behind the Core Kitchen cafe, which will bring you down into the underground garage that is directly next to MOCHA.

MOCHA’s front desk line is 510-987-8556.

Parking
Parking in our area is mostly metered street parking and paid garages. The Ace garage/Oakland City Center Parking is located right next to the entrance of MOCHA, and is free for the first 10 mins.

Ace Parking Management, Inc./Oakland City Center Parking
525 14th St, Oakland, CA 94612 (free for the 1st 10 mins, $12 an hour)

Daily information
Each day, we require that an adult show ID for sign in/out of each camper at the main reception desk. MOCHA staff are always available to meet with you in person to discuss your child and make sure we are providing the best possible experience for them.

What to bring to camp?
Parents should send lunch and snack. We recommend also bringing a reusable water bottle.

What not to bring?
Food that contains nuts
Electronic games or cell phones (for campers only)
Toys or other personal items that will cause disappointment if lost
Gum or Candy

LABEL EVERYTHING!
This includes lunches, hats, backpacks and water bottles. We will do our best to make sure campers leave with everything they came with. Lost items will be held for 2 weeks and then donated.

Dress for a mess
Please dress your children in clothing that you don’t mind getting covered with paint, glue, etc. Smocks or aprons are provided. Weather can also change frequently, so send a warm jacket or sweatshirt. If rain is predicted, send rain gear.

Care Form
List all food allergies, behavior issues, and other important information for the staff to know about your camper on your registration form. If authorized pickup people need to be added, please include: first and last name, email, phone number, and relation to camper in the email. If anything else was left off, please email museum@mocha.org.

Illness and Accidents
If your child has a minor injury at camp (small cut or scrape), we will administer basic first aid, and parents will receive an incident report at the sign out, describing the injury and actions taken. For more serious injuries, or if a camper complains of illness, we will contact the parent/guardian immediately. They will be expected to make arrangements to take the camper home. If neither parent/guardian can be reached, we will call the emergency contacts listed on the registration form. In an emergency situation, we will call 911 and/or arrange treatment for your child.

Daily camp schedule
8am - 9am: precare
9am: regular drop-off hours
9am - 12pm: art making (with one snack break)

MOCHA reserves the right to photograph and film MOCHA campers and their artwork to publicize the program. If you wish your child’s image to be excluded from MOCHA’s publicity, clearly note this on your registration form. MOCHA reserves the right to use student artwork for exhibition and publicity at no charge. Artwork not claimed at the end of camp or exhibitions becomes the property of MOCHA.

May I join my camper for lunch?
Yes! Most days we have lunch just steps in front of MOCHA or at the basketball court near 1111 Broadway. If you plan on joining us for lunch, please inquire with the receptionist at the front desk and shoot them an email.
