About

Farm Camp is run from our 1-acre school farm in the Mission Terrace neighborhood. We provide an opportunity for young children to connect with nature while directly participating in the daily rhythms of farm life and preparing for entry into school. Our day camp is designed to inspire a connection with and love of the natural world, and also a chance to get hands dirty in fun and educational ways. Activities include animal care for our chickens and rabbit, planting, weeding, watering, mulching, harvesting, compost care, crafts and free play. Children will bring snacks and lunch and come prepared to get dirty!

Please send your child with a backpack that they can carry on their own with two hearty snacks and lunch and a refillable water bottle.

We spent all day outside at the Farm and San Francisco summers can be notably chilly or hot. Please send your child with appropriate layers, rain pants every day regardless of weather, sunscreen, sturdy shoes or rain boots and an extra pair of clothes in their bag. Also, send your child in clothes that can get dirty as well as painted on.

We follow detailed SFDPH guidance for schools and childcare that is consistent with the Golden Bridges School Health & Safety Norms listed on our website. As Farm Camp is entirely outdoors, masks are welcome, but not required. Hand hygiene is our priority. And to keep our greater community safe, we encourage families to practice daily symptom and exposure checks at home before coming to camp.

Individual Community Norms: • Stay Engaged • Speak Your Truth • Experience Discomfort • Accept and Expect Non-Closure • Accept and Expect Ambiguity

Collective Community Norms: • Pay Attention to Patterns of Participation • Contextual Confidentiality • Go to the Source (or let it go) • Recognize that we are all on our own path of inner and outer work • Hold everyone in their highest light • I am because we are
