About

Tech Adventure Camp is for children entering K - 5th grade as of fall 2019

This new and exciting camp combines the S.T.E.A.M. and Coding camps we have offered in the past, along with Tinkering & Makers Camp to create a new camp adventure! Campers will divide by age groups and these smaller groups will rotate through four stations, S.T.E.A.M., Coding, Tinkering, and Team Building Games. Campers will go to the Tech Museum of Innovation of San Jose the last Friday of each session. The curriculum is repeated each session.

S.T.E.A.M campers challenge themselves as they explore innovative ways to design, problem solve, and create unique inventions and concoctions while using everyday household items through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.

Coding campers will learn to code as a stepping-stone to think like a coder! During the two-week camp session, campers will learn art & design, data analysis, science & math skills, engineering, and information technology, skills important for your child’s future endeavors.

Campers will create computer programs allowing them to collaborate, develop problem-solving skills, and persist through difficult tasks. By the end of camp, younger children will create their very own custom game or story to share and older children will use their advanced skills to solve an interactive and competitive story plot.

Tinkering & Makers campers will build projects with recycled materials! There will be time for group projects and individual creations! Your child doesn’t need to know how or why something works, but be inquisitive and interested to find out.

Team Building campers will play games based on the Tribes Learning Centers books and materials. The Tribes TLC® process is the way to do it. Students achieve because they:
• Feel included and appreciated by peers and teachers
• Are respected for their different abilities, cultures, gender, interests and dreams
• Are actively involved in their own learning
• Have positive expectations from others that they will succeed.

This combined camp approach will give campers a well-rounded experience to create, innovate, and discover new solutions in small groups.

Two healthy snacks are provided daily.
