About Sammy

I graduated WSU with a degree in Elementary Education. Most recently I was a preschool teacher assistant at a Montessori school, working with toddlers 16mo-2. 5yo. At that school, I often subbed in another classroom with children 3-5yo. After school, I helped a group of 2nd graders with homework and organized other creative activities for them. I did my student teaching in Bellevue in a 2nd grade classroom. After my student teaching, I took a break and nannied for about a year. I nannied for 2 different families during that time. In college, I tutored 5th graders and that lead to volunteering as a 5th grade camp counselor. I also had a practicum in a 1st grade classroom and a 3rd grade classroom. For my advanced practicum, I was in a 2nd grade classroom. During two of those summers in college, I worked at the Bellevue boys and girls club for summer camp. For the other two summers I nannied for a family with 2 kids. I am very passionate about working with kids!
