About who needs care: Early stage Dementia... she has good days and bad days. Uses a walker. She is able to get in and out of bed by herself, use the bathroom and get dressed by herself... when she wants to. Cannot bath / shower herself. Lives with daughter and son-in-law. Does not cook... can put toast or waffles in toaster, get juice and takes am pills with breakfast, She is capable and does make her lunch, usually a ham and cheese sandwich with a boost. She likes to do puzzles, which we have a table set up in her den for that. Word search and crosswords occasionally. We Really think that someone for companionship besides us (daughter & son-in-law} would be helpful to her. She has no structure to her day, When she is finished with breakfast she goes back to bed, Same with lunch. Maybe that would change with the proper caregiver... one who really does care. Experience with elderly dementia people would be great!
About the care needs: Happy, bubbly, cheerful, patient, but MOSTLY CARING AND UNDERSTANDING. MUST SPEAK ENGLISH.... loud and clear, as she wears hearing aids, when she puts them in, Also needs assistance with putting them in properly.
Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
