Seeking care for my father in his 60s. Services needed: companionship, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my father: he can be anxious, lethargic, grouchy. He is bipolar, manipulative, and can be moody. He starts off very pleasant but can eventually become moody and reclusive. Loves to talk about history or WWII. Can be inappropriate in some topics. Loves his animals. His bipolar can make him very depressed. Thrives off routine. I'm looking for someone who is patient, fond of pets. Cannot be manipulated easily. Loves animals. Understands mental health issues, anxiety, and the difference between psychosomatic symptoms and real medical emergencies. Can carry on educated conversations that can stimulate my father to stay out of bed and be active and not so depressed. My father loves to challenge and argue at times. It was the dynamic he had with his deceased wife. So a good debate is fun for him. An educational conversation about history, cars, the navy, or WWII will make him happy. Talking about cats, especially black ones really tickles him.
