I worked in the Community Service Department at Millersville University for all four years of school. The last two years I was in charge of organizing/ putting together all the events. Some of the events include Easter Baskets, Empty Bowls, Community Day, Back to School Backpacks, and Angel Tree, just to name a few. I had to call up different places around the area to see if they would be willing to donate/help out, make sure we had enough volunteers, and that we had a space to have the function. Also I had to make up and follow time lines which ensured everything would run smoothly. Making sure all these events go smoothly takes a lot of organizing, preparation, and hard work. I have been out of school for almost three years now. I have helped three friends plan their weddings, planned surprise parties for 30 people. At my church I am in charge of planning and setting up monthly lunches for the congregation. Also I have thrown about 5 bridal and baby showers. I am a very organized person, who loves to set up and make things look nice. My background in art helps me be more creative and see things that someone else might have missed. My favorite moment is when you have finished setting up for an event and you know all that work that you put in to getting everything together was worth it and you know that you could not have done anything else to make the event more special, and now you just wait for people to start arriving. I work at a school, so upon request I can give my child clearances.
