I have a background in working with frail seniors. I taught Activities on the Skilled Nursing Floor of a prominent Retirement Facility. I worked with folks who were frail, ranging into late 90's or 100, many with different stages of Dementia, others with their minds intact, but physical challenges. I have a Long Term Care Activity Coordinator Certificate, and a certificate to teach exercise to seniors in wheelchairs. Mostly, seniors like me because I bring a warm, compassionate presence that makes them feel seen and accepted, as well as respected. I now work with individuals wanting to stay in their own home environment, as a support companion/concierge, as well as at Assisted living facilities. I am available to accompany seniors on outings, to medical appointments, shopping, errands etc. I work with the particular needs of the individual situation, sometimes doing light cooking, managing phone calls, appointments, and issues that need managing. I work with situations with mounting needs. I am a woman in my early sixties, who is compassionate, kind and gentle. In situations where the family is long distance, or does not have much free time, I am available as liaison, to collaborate with Family members, helping manage their parent's affairs locally or long distance. In some cases, I am their eyes and their ears. My background is in Education, Marketing, Stress release, coaching. I have excellent references.
