As an elementary school teacher and literacy coach, I spent many happy years fostering a love of reading. My primary focus was on children s literature and the ways in which children learn through their encounters with books. I specialize in children's stories, poetry, and short prose as a writer. After nearly 22 years in education, I made a long-awaited career transition into publishing. The opportunity to assist an emerging author in publishing her first book was tremendously formative and exhilarating, as I learned all the facets of the industry from editing to publicity, marketing, and production. In particular, I developed a strong command of line editing, website and social media management, and public relations. I serve families in New York City as a nanny and personal assistant, drawing on my extensive educational experience in caring for young children, supporting their development, managing household tasks, and promoting strong family relationships.
