Amber worked for me for three years in her capacity of student at Green Mountain College and Work-Study Student here in the Registrar's Office where my role as the Associate Registrar required us to work closely. Usually our work-study students are limited to seven hours of work per week, but when a full-time co-worker needed a summer out for maternity leave, we hired Amber for the summer as a part-time worker doing 20 hours per week. Amber is a generous person and a serious student. She is a positive sphere of influence who is mature beyond her years. She is reliable, punctual, generous, discreet, detail-oriented, and demonstrates good critical-thinking skills by asking good and pointed questions. She is engaged in our college community. Our staff deals with students, parents, and alumni in an effort to provide excellent customer service and correct answers that are not always clear-cut and may require the interpretation of policy. To-date, Amber has handled the high points and the challenges with equal grace. Additionally, Amber has demonstrated willingness to take on new responsibilities, having sole responsibility for the posting of course syllabi to our website, a job that required her to network with our frequently out-of-office Communications Office in order to learn a completely new skill set. Amber's goal is to be School Psychologist for grades K-5. Given the nature of her close relationship to a young nephew with whom she spends a lot of free time, this goal is near to her heart. She is highly motivated to achieve this goal and tenacious - two excellent personal qualities. I recommend Amber without reservation.
