Math Tutors: Middle School and High School Math Tutor Doctor, Cary $18 to $24 an hour - Part-time. Job Overview: High-Level Math Tutor - We would love to meet individuals with strong knowledge in Upper-Level Math (Algebra, Pre-calculus, Calculus, Statistics). This is a part-time opportunity; prime tutoring hours occur between 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Mon -Fri. However, families may request tutoring on at other times, including weekends. Family consultations: We meet with every family before matching to provide valuable information to you so you can arrive prepared for the first session. Support: We support out tutors every step of the way and are always available should problems arise. Efficient reporting system: We have an online reporting system that allows you to invoice us for your tutoring hours and log your student's progress. RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively and comprehensively deliver subject matter tutoring. Facilitate tutoring sessions for the prescribed subjects at the agreed time and location. Review homework as necessary. Work with the student to close any learning gaps or enhance understanding in subject areas. Provide additional practice work to ensure thorough understanding of topic/s covered. With parent's permission, communicate with student's teacher if required. Submit a session report for our office and families after each tutoring session within 24 hours of said session. Assist student with executive, organizational and study skills to improve their time management and project management capabilities. Service existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests. Communicate relevant information regularly to your local office. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or Outstanding College Transcript with 3.0 GPA. Master's degrees and Tutoring Certifications are a plus. 1 year experience in the education field. Experience with basic Data Entry. Flexible personality suited for different learning styles. Strong administration and computer skills. Access to reliable transportation with valid auto insurance. Access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone. COMPENSATION: $18 to $24/hr. Do you have a passion for helping people? Do you love math? Are you looking for a flexible opportunity to build your resume or supplement your current employment? Mathnasium of NE Seattle is a math only learning center. We have openings for enthusiastic math instructors to work with students in grades 1-12. Hours could be from 2:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Saturday, approximately 8-20 hours per week (flexible). Instructor Role: - Teach through Mathnasium methodology and terminology, using prescribed teaching practices. - Interact with and motivate students during the instructional session. - Evaluate and document student progress. - Communicate student needs to the center director. - Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, curriculum preparation, or other duties as assigned. Instructor Characteristics: - Math Expert - Instructors must be passionate about math and have strong skills through Algebra I and Geometry. Instructors who work with high school students must also excel in math through Algebra II, Trig, and Pre-Calculus. Instructors must be willing to successfully complete training and learn and apply new pedagogy to teach the Mathnasium Way. - Engaging - Instructors must interact well with students and be able to explain things clearly and concisely. Instructors should be able to inspire students to do well, establish a fun learning environment, and consistently demonstrate enthusiasm in teaching math. - Facilitator - Instructors must move easily from one student to another and be able to keep track of multiple instructional lessons going on concurrently. Instructors must be able to evaluate and document progress in order to facilitate student learning. - Professional - Instructors must interact with parents, students, and co-workers in a friendly but professional manner at all times and establish a high level of confidence and program value with Mathnasium families.
