After giving birth last month, Lucy Hellein shared a staged picture of her newborn son holding her Mirena intrauterine device, which she says was found hiding behind her placenta.<\/p>
“My baby boy! Dexter Tyler 27 April 2017 @ 0840 9lbs 1oz 21.5in Mirena found behind my placenta ❤ #littlejedi #mirenababy #mirenafail #blessing #theforceisstrongwiththisone,” the post on Instagram read.<\/a><\/p> The post has since gone viral on social media, being liked more than 1,800 times and prompting others to share their surprise pregnancy stories.<\/p> “Awesome pic! I had a Mirena fail baby, too. They didn’t find the IUD until 2 years later. Congrats on your not so little guy,” one commenter posted.<\/p> Hellein told Metro UK<\/a> she had the Mirena inserted in August, and found out she was 18-weeks pregnant in December.<\/p> “This was actually my third Mirena. My first two worked great,” she said.<\/p> Mirena is 99 percent effective at preventing pregnancy, but it appears little Dexter and his mom are part of that other 1 percent!<\/p> “Dexter was definitely meant to be.
