How To Get Rid Of Acne In Adults

Something has been happening to me and I can’t figure out how to get it under control. I am breaking out along my jawline and it is so embarrassing. I an in my thirties and you wouldn’t expect to have acne at my age. It’s so embarrassing!

I’ve searched the internet on how to get rid of acne in adults and it comes up with so much information that I can’t decide which is valuable and which information is not. I’ve read things such as eating apples will help clean up skin to trying to eat sugar free diet.

I’ve bought all kinds of expensive face washes that claim they are the secret if you want to know how to get rid of acne, but none of them seem to work. I’ve had special facials that dry my skin out so much I feel like a piece of beef jerky. I’ve been to the dermatologist and the medications they put me on make me sick to my stomach and I can’t stand to take them any more. I feel like I have tried everything and I am beyond discouraged!

If someone can’t tell me how to get rid of acne I feel like it will be something I have to suffer with for the rest of my adult life. Are medications the only answer? It’s the only solution that the doctors are offering me.

  • Acne is a very common skin disorder. It can be due to various environmental condition or hormonal changes in the body. There are various skin products available to reduce acne and its scars. Check out here, where one can find various skin care products like lotions, creams, gels which can help to reduce acne by providing the essential elements like protein and collagen to the body.

  • Acne can be genetic, hormonal, dietary, or environmental. The first thing I recommend is to dry your face with clean tissue paper after washing- NOT a washcloth (they harbor dust and tons of bacteria). Next, tie your hair back and don't wear makeup. It's sad but it pays off. Keep your hair out of your face when you sleep AND wash your pillowcase and blankets as frequently as possible. My acne on my jawline often comes from the sheets. ALSO- the screens of cell phones are often dirtier than toilet seats. I kid you not. Disinfect your cellphone and don't put it against your face if at all possible. Use speakerphone or a headset. Your shampoo or dirty hair can cause acne. Try different shampoo or hair products and see if you experience a difference. If tying your hair back works, then you can skip that step. Lastly, drink lots of water (lemon water is fantastic) and eat berries and leafy greens to detox your system. No need for medication- they never worked for me anyway.

  • I think everyone has a different type of skin and level of sensitivity. I worked at the Clinique Counter for over 10 years and I have seen so many of my customers transform their skin. I believe you should have a great cleaning system that you would religiously use twice a day as well as a good mask once a week and makeup remover used every night before your cleaning system.Make sure to prevent and to get rid of acne and breakouts by, diet, removing makeup, using products that are oil free, fragrance free. If you try all these things and its not working and you give it 12 weeks then I would go see a derm. I think its safe to say go check out the Clinique counter and find a consultant that knows what they are doing and you can find the best plan for your skin. If she is any good she will keep in contact with you and send you home with samples to try and if your not happy with it you and her/him can change or tweak your regimen. Give it time and be consistant and I think that will be the last stop before your derm and maybe she can save you money before going to the dr.

  • You should try finding if you have any sort of hormonal imbalance, that might cause your acne. First, Visit a dermatologist and ask for a blood test. There are some medications which are not as harsh as 'Acutane' for example. One thing for sure, is to change your diet and eat more veggies and green leafs rather than fried foods, or junk food. Another thing that causes breakouts, is the high sugar intake, and chocolates. Cut down on the sugar intake, and substitute it with nuts or organic food. Wash your face everyday with warm water to open the pores. Use a non-scented soap, I would recommend Clinique.

After you wash your face with warm water, rub your face with a lemon dipped in baking soda, leave it on for 10 mins then rinse with cold water to close the pores. Do this twice a day, and you will notice how your acne starts to disappear. Lemon and baking soda are both known for their natural cleansing effects. Do not forget to drink lots and lots of water. Try adding toothpaste to the infected site and leave overnight. Toothpaste usually dries up the acne.

If you're suffering with blackheads, use glue and a charcoal pill to create a thick paste, add the mask to your face. Leave till dry then peel off. Rinse with cold water. Do this every week and you will notice how your face will be rid of the acne. Berries are natural antioxidants which means more oxygen for your skin. Eats lots of berries, and strawberries. Good luck in your journey.
