Using Care.com's Monitored Messaging System

How to communicate without sharing your contact information until you're ready

Your number one goal? Finding the perfect caregiver or job.

Our number one goal? Helping to make your search easier and safer.

One of the main ways we do that is with Care.com's monitored messaging system. It's a great reason to use Care.com instead of posting on public message boards with your email address. So what makes our messaging system so special? It was specifically created to help you in three main ways:

Benefit 1: Privacy. We suggest you send all of your initial messages through Care.com instead of using your personal email. That way, you only share your contact information if and when you feel comfortable enough with a caregiver. So you only wind up with one or two promising caregivers having your email address, instead of 30 applicants you're not interested in working with.

Benefit 2: Filtering. Our monitored messaging system looks for offensive words and signs of spam, scams or other inappropriate content. In the rare cases where something does slip through, you can report the message and our safety team will look into it and take appropriate action.

Benefit 3: Convenience. All of your messages with caregivers are in one central place. No searching through hundreds of emails in your inbox, no hunting for a sticky note that's wandered off. Simple and fast, just the way you want it.

Sounds great, right? Click "My Messages" on your My Care.com page to start using it now to contact caregivers or families near you!
