Nebraska - Home Care

When a senior wants to "age in place," or live at home for as long as possible, many families are findingHome Careas an alternative to senior care facilities. For seniors who do not want facility care and want to remain at home, home care is an option that works.

What is Home Care?

Two types of home care serve the varying needs of seniors who choose to remain at home but need extra assistance with daily tasks. Skilled medical home care brings visiting nurses to an individual's home to provide medical care including things like wound care or injections. Some seniors do not require medical care, but do require assistance with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, laundry, or completing errands. For these seniors, non-medical home care is the best option. Care providers will help them with such tasks, but not anything of a medical nature.
