Missouri - Home Care

If a senior can no longer safely live at home alone, many families feel that a senior care facility is the only remaining option. However, for families who think their senior would be most comfortable at home, the best option may be home care.

What is Home Care?

Home Care brings care services to a senior in the comfort of their own home. Visiting nurses come into the home of a senior to assist them with tasks ranging from serious medical care to help with household chores. There are two types of senior home care - skilled medical home care and non-medical home care. Skilled medical home care is the proper option for a senior who requires daily medical treatment and a fair amount of monitoring. Visiting nurses will provide a senior with medical treatments including wound care, pain management, infusion therapy, rehabilitation therapies, medication management, and more on a daily basis. If your senior does not require medical care, but does need help with other activities of daily living, then non-medical home care is the option to consider. Non-medical home care nurses assist with such activities as dressing/bathing assistance, food preparation, assistance with chores/errands, general companionship, and more.
