California Home Care

Find caregivers and in-home aides to help your loved one in California.

California - Home Care

California has a lot of options when it comes to senior care. When having to move to a facility is not necessary, not an option, or just not a favorable idea, various types of Home Care can be the perfect solution. Home care aides are meant to help seniors go about their day and do anything with which they may need help.

Home Care

There are two types of available home care - skilled medical home care and non-medical home care. Skilled medical home care is nursing home-level medical care provided by visiting nurses in an individual's home. These services can range from blood tests to wound care making this a good option for seniors who have medical needs requiring constant attention. Non-medical home care is best for seniors who do not require medical attention, but need assistance with personal care (dressing, bathing) and home tasks (light cleaning, laundry). In more personal ways, home care aides can remind seniors to take medication (though they cannot administer anything without a license).

According to California law and industry standards, if a home care aide has the proper training, other services can be provided as well. One popular one is physical therapy. Physical therapists can help at home after a surgery or stroke, and can also assist in learning how to use a cane, walker, or wheelchair pain-free.
