Vermont - Hospice Care

Hospice Care

When families are faced with making tough end-of-life care decisions, many turn to hospice care, which is often started when an individual is given a life-limiting diagnosis. Hospice care facilities work to avoid prolonging the dying process by foregoing intensive medical treatment in favor of pain relief and other measures that increase a senior's comfort level. Hospice staff, who work in hospitals, nursing homes, or even in an individual's own home, do their best to create a positive atmosphere in which seniors can be physically and spiritually rested during their last days.
