Read about hospice resources you can access in Michigan.

Michigan-Hospice

Michigan is a state which respects seniors' right to make decisions about end-of-life care and is home to more than 100 hospice facilities. Read on to learn more about hospice and how you can support your loved one during this difficult time.

Hospice

Hospice puts the patient in the driver's seat and allows them to call the shots about treatment for their terminal illness. Seniors decide who they want to take care of them, where they would like to receive care, and even if they want to change or end their treatment plan at any time. Giving patients a voice preserves their dignity when they are most vulnerable and makes them feel in control of their destiny. Treatment is not focused solely on the body, but on the mind and spirit as well. Members of the hospice care team typically include social workers, grief support counselors, and chaplains who help support the patient and their family.
