Is there a Need to Yell at Kids?

There’s much debate over the need to yell at kids, just like there has been over the need to spank kids. Could it lead to more aggressive behavior? Can it be emotionally disruptive? While we can leave research to the scientists, two Care.com employees weighed in on the matter. One, a mom of three and the other, a nanny. Who do you agree with?

Note: Due to a malfunction on our blog hosting platform, we had to post this piece in our article section of Care.com. Here is the link to the debate over yelling as the new spanking.

I think hard spanking is more use than yelling. It give them something to remember. Yelling goes in one ear and out the other. I think kids should be given the cane at school just like they did to us when we were kids. I was more scared when I got home that my dad was going to give me another spanking because I was bad at school. Now days they cant say BOO to kids because the goody two shoes say that abuse. That's why kids have no respect these days. Bring back caning at school I say.
