Of all the things that help us to be the best moms we can be -- whether it’s parenting books, advice from friends and family, or just our own natural instincts -- perhaps coffee is the one thing that unites us all. (I'm sure same goes for our babysitters and nannies, too!)

Having a favorite coffeehouse is essential to getting that all-important caffeine boost. It can also serve as a place for impromptu play dates, a great meeting place for parenting groups, and a sanctuary where mom, dad, and the kids can relax with a warm beverage and a tasty treat.

Here are some of Metro Detroit’s best coffeehouses where kids are welcomed with open arms.
