Easter Egg Hunt Ideas For Kids Of All Ages

Easter Egg Hunt Ideas For Kids Of All Ages

What is Easter without an Easter Egg Hunt? When you have kids varying in age it can be hard to encourage everyone to play. You want your older kids to participate so that the younger ones will think it is “cool” and a fun tradition. So here are some suggestions of ways to accommodate an Easter Egg Hunt for the whole family.

  1. Assign a color of egg to each kid and make sure to hide them according to their height and age. You really want to avoid having a free-for-all because the big kids will grab up all the easy eggs too quickly and the young ones will get discouraged. When each kid is looking just for their own egg color everyone can feel challenged and rewarded for their finds. You can also customize the type of candy in the eggs depending on the kid.

  2. You can build off the idea of assigning color eggs by changing what is inside the eggs. Instead of candy you can fill the eggs with clues or puzzle pieces that when solved reveal a prize or gift. My parents started doing this with us when we got older and we got a kick out of it. One year they had cut up a piece of paper with a photo on it and when I put my puzzle together it was a photo of a pair of sunglasses that I had wanted. Another benefit to this idea is that it can greatly reduce the need for candy and sugar intake.

  3. You can add big eggs to your traditional Easter Egg Hunt that contain gift cards. This is another great way to get all the kids excited. Before the hunt you can tell each kid they get only one large Easter egg or have each kid look for their specific colored large Easter egg. Just make sure they are all the same amount. This works best with kids old enough to appreciate gift cards.

Hope this helps! Happy Easter!
