When is it too early to encourage your baby to crawl?

Our five month old scoots herself around army style. It is pretty cute but she gets so tired. We have been trying to get her to crawl by bribing her with Cheerios. Is she too young?

all kids are different. some crawl at 7-8 months, some later, some don't crawl at all and start to walk. Of course, if the child is making any attempts to crawls, you have to encourage that.

Babies all have different milestones, of course, but the average crawling age is around 7-10 months. Is your baby scooting around on carpet? My brother couldn't crawl on carpet. The moment we had him on tile floor, he started crawling. We didn't think he could crawl at that time, so it shocked us. It may be early for your baby, but there's always the chance.
