I am wondering what the rate of pay would be for my 14,7,6, and 4 year old if I were to go out of town for a week. All of the children are school aged and the 4 year old goes to preschool half day.
Since I know what taking care of 4 children entails on a day to day basis. Mom of 5) I would consider $20 an hour a fair pay. The caregiver would be staying at your home and giving full attention to all your children as well as all their needs including preparing meals, cleaning, supervision, etc.
$ 1,500 flat rate for the week.
Given that the caregiver would essentially be running a four-child home and sleeping (or not sleeping, but definitely in your home) overnight, and would therefore be cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and generally all duties related to the home, I would recommend $750 or more for the week. Keep in mind that this nanny likely is leaving her own family, pets, etc. alone in order to handle your household, and children whose parents aren't at home will usually push boundaries a bit and not sleep as well, which means your caregiver is probably going to be up late and up again early. Beyond the base rate I'd include an expense account (cash or credit with receipts required) and throw in some entertainment money to help the kids have a good time while you're gone, plus gas money and, if you get home and everything is wonderful, tipping is always accepted. So you're looking at about $1000-$1250 for the week, $1500 if your house is clean, kids are well and happy, and laundry is caught up, because good tippers make loyal employees who will return the next time you need them.
Depends on the sitter and me personally i would charge around $300 to $475 the week only because i like to work with people as long as people work with me.
$15/hr is usually for one child. 3+ is usually $30/hr, plus it's an overnight job for 3 days.
I will do a daily rate for the duration of the time being. An entire week will be about 500-600.
Approximately $20 dollars. That averages to $5 dollars and kid. Then if any other tasks are required by the babysitter add approximately $5-$10 depending on task.
I would offer a flat daily rate, with some consideration for providing overnight care, and the day to day responsibility. But for a week, and 4 kids...definitely no less than $200 per/day.
$15 per hr is very fair
We just did this over the summer so hopefully this helps as reference point. We actually flew in and old babysitter from the midwest to west coast. She watch our 2 kids for 7 days and drove them to and from daycare each day and did everything for them in the morning and evening until bedtime. (My husband was home but working a ton and I was out of town). We paid her $600 + paid for flights.
I would pay a flat rate daily of no more than 150 a day. It doesn't make since to charge per hour. Are the kids in school, will the caregiver be cooking or just reheating meals. So many variables. I would only work with those that will consider a daily rate.
It depends on the persons experience. The more experienced babysitters may charge you more. I would not charge anything while the kids were at school. Unless they became ill. I could charge at least $15 an hour plus expenses.
I would be willing to do it for 300-500. Pay is negotiable as I understand you are a mom of four. I will take this job seroiusly and trust me I will give my utmost responsibility and hard work foward.
