Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on a reasonable Day rate to care for 2 boys (8&6)? I'm going to need care for them for about two weeks, assuming hours between 830 and 430 each day.

I would say about 25-30 dollars per day.

Usually I charge $12 per hour for 1 child and $15 for 2 children. Some family pays me $15 for just 1 child

$40/day per child seems to be the going rate.

Alot depends on if they need transportation to and from school or other extra curricular activities, or if you need a caregiver to stay and do light housekeeping during the school day.

I believe that approximately $150 a week would be appropriate.

Every single person who said any number less then Minimum wage is 110% wrong. If your having someone watch your CHILDREN you need to pay at least minimum wage per hour for every single hour worked. What happens when you don't, like I did once? The nanny/sitter files a wage claim and reports it to the IRS next thing you know you're paying back taxes, lost wages, and penalties. I needed 9 hours a day of care for 2 weeks of winter break and I paid $50/day. I spent thousands! in back taxes, lost wages, and penalties; because the nanny i hired was pissed at the small wage I was paying. It turns out as an employer I am the one responsible for paying correctly. So learn from me.

I know it all depends on what you want them to do with your children a regular sitter is not that much . maybe  $10.00 per hour  that is by eight  $ 80.00 per day . I come from Grand Rapids MI . that would be the rate there . Nanny services I believe are different , cleaning preparing healthy meals , having some activities planned , play and teaching this would be more per  hour $15 .00  to $ 20.00 all depending on the structure , of what is wanted .Or you could work something out with some one .

It would all depend what additional need is for the two boys. If it is companionship and meal prep and taking them to sports or activities then the price would be $20-$25 per hour but expect to get something back on your investment.

You will need to prepare to be able to pay your childcare provider at least $200.00 per week. Make sure that you include every service that the children will need.

It depends on what area you live in. It is typically about 300 a week for a center for two kids that age. Private care is more expensive but better for your kids because they are less likely to get injured or sick.

It depends on where you live and the age/experience of the caregiver. Some caregivers charge an hourly rate while others will negotiate a day rate, especially if it is for an extended period of time. At the very least, you could pay the minimum wage in your state but keep in mind that the minimum wage may not attract the most experienced caregivers. Above all, you need to be comfortable with your choice of a caregiver so that you do not worry about the safety and well being of your children during your absence.

in my experience with childcare for my own children , when they were little... If you take care of the baby sitter financial well, then they will take care of your love one, for it means in my understanding that you value them as well as your children.
