So I know this sounds crazy but my dog licks everything.  It drives me crazy.  I have had dogs all my life and I have never seen a dog that does this.  He will lick almost anything but loves  the wall and the couch and I have no clue why.  Have you ever seen this?

YES! Haha There is quite a few cases I have come across with what we call Neurotic Lickers. Good news is it most likely isn't anything you have to worry about health wise. The typical reason why some dogs lick things is because its become, what i like to call a neurotic twitch. Like a habit they can't break. Try getting some fun new toys that they can interact with like a kong with peanut butter in it. On the other hand another reason why some dogs lick a lot is because of salt insufficiency. Usually dogs that lack salt lick humans and don't usually lick the walls. I hope this helps you understand your licky pooch. :)

Could be a form of hygiene maintenance pay attention to his or her oral hygiene my dog used to lick the couch every morning to get rid of his morning breath is what I predicted. The wall is cool so it might just be because he likes the coolness on his tongue give him an ice cube to have fun with every now and then. The last reason I came up with is maybe he or she likes the taste of the paint

Licking can be a sign of lack of nutrients or an anxiety/boredom response. I've seen it most in dogs who are pregnant or have just given birth and are nursing or dogs who do not get enough attention/exercise.
