How long does my toddler need a rear facing car seat?

My baby is almost 15 months, and she's really big. I'm ready to switch her out of a rear facing car seat, but my husband disagrees. How long does she need to be in it?

Answers

I would suggest talking to her pediatrician.

This I'm not too sure of but I feel as though if your child is growing "too big" for their rear facing car seat, and their able to perform fine motor skills, than one should be able to feel comfortable with making the change of car seats.

Have you asked your child's pediatrician?

The recommendation is to keep kids rear facing until they are 2, or longer if possible. Rear facing is much, much safer in an accident.
